About us
The Bigger Picture is an online blog aiming to amplify youth voices in politics, culture and the arts. The blog was set up by Darcy Miller in late 2019, with the belief that there was a genuine need for a platform centred solely on youth perspectives. Negative stereotyping of teenagers is rife in the mass media, and as a result many are not aware of the bigger picture, that countless young people are out there, doing things that matter; striking for political ends, advocating various political causes, producing beautiful, technically astounding poetry, artwork, photography and music and making a positive impact in local communities. The Bigger Picture is therefore designed to highlight and expose those voices, and also provides a platform for youth themselves to express themselves politically in fact-based political editorials.
We also take great pride in the diversity of our organisation; we have contributors based in London, Israel, Bucharest, Tokyo, Geneva, Taiwan, South Carolina, Philadelphia, Jakarta and Geneva. We are interested in expanding our organisation and interviewing youth involved in politics, culture and/or the arts; please go to our "applications" page to find out more.
